Chatted with an old hot rod guy at the gas station about moisture
He told me he puts a couple of those DampRid buckets in his garage during winter, said it kept his '57 Chevy from fogging up the windows and rusting the chrome. Anyone else use dehumidifiers for their stored cars?

My neighbor swears by a $20 dehumidifier from Walmart.

I get that a $20 dehumidifier sounds like a steal, but honestly I'd be surprised if it does much more than make noise. Those cheap units usually have tiny tanks that fill up in a few hours (especially in a humid basement) and they don't have the power to actually pull moisture out of the air. Your neighbor might think it's working because they see water in the tank, but unless their space is really small, that thing is probably just running constantly without making a real dent in the humidity level. You're better off saving for something with a proper compressor and a decent pint rating, even if it costs more upfront.
