That expensive brush I thought was a gimmick
Bought a Viper brush set last year because I was sick of cheap bristles breaking off in January. Figured it was just fancy marketing for the same junk. After using it on 20+ jobs, the bristles still look new and it gets into tight spots way better than my old one. Anyone else find a tool they thought was overpriced but turned out worth it?

and honestly I think the whole "buy cheap until you know better" thing is overrated because you end up spending more money over time replacing broken junk. the viper stuff is legit, i had the same reaction when i first saw the price tag (like $80 for a brush? get outta here). but after a year of daily use mine still looks almost new and holds paint perfectly. funny how sometimes the expensive thing ends up being the cheaper option in the long run.

Read somewhere that a lot of those premium brushes actually hold up better because the ferrule doesn't come loose after a few washes. Your mileage may vary but that tracks with what you're saying.
