PSA: Stop using those cheap fiberglass rods for heavy creosote

Had a guy bring in his setup last week after his rod snapped mid-sweep and lodged 12 feet up in a flue, took me 3 hours to fish it out with a magnet. Why are people still buying those 20 dollar kits from Home Depot when a basic poly rod kit lasts 10 years?

Poly rods can get brittle in cold weather too though.

Aren't they still tougher than steel rods in the cold though?
