Hot take: A homeowner in Asheville told me my soot cleanup was sloppy.

They pointed out a fine dust line I'd missed on their mantle. Now I run a microfiber cloth over every surface, even if it looks clean. Anyone else get called out on a detail that changed their routine?

Oh man, that's the worst. One tiny miss can make the whole job look bad. I started doing a "final light check" from a low angle in every room, shining a flashlight almost sideways across surfaces. Catches every single dust line and footprint you'd never see standing up. It adds five minutes but saves the call back.

Remember my buddy who got dinged for a single streak on a glass door? He started wiping every pane twice, once wet and once dry with a newsprint cloth. It sounds like overkill but he hasn't had a complaint since.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. It's crazy how one little line can make a client question the whole job. That flashlight trick from the other comment is a total game changer for catching those misses.
