Had a flue blockage from a bird nest that took me almost 4 hours to clear out yesterday.

Raccoon through a roof gap? That sounds like an absolute nightmare, I would have just given up and called someone.

Oh man, that is rough. I had a squirrel get into my attic once and it took forever to figure out where it was getting in. I feel your pain on unexpected home repairs eating up a whole afternoon.

And the worst part is you never know where they're coming from until they've already made a mess. I had a raccoon once that got in through a tiny gap where the roof met the siding - took me three trips to the hardware store before I found the right kind of metal mesh to block it off. Plus the insulation was all torn up and had to be replaced. By the time I was done fixing everything I was covered in dust and scratches and just wanted to take a nap.
