Found a 1983 penny in a flue at a job in Toledo, wild before and after story
So last Tuesday I was sweeping a big old house in Toledo and pulled out this 1983 penny from a crack in the flue liner, it was basically black and crusty. I cleaned it with some vinegar and a brush, took maybe 15 minutes, and it shined up like it was brand new, seriously night and day. Anyone else ever find random junk that cleans up way better than you expected in a chimney?

Man, that is so cool! It's funny how the grungiest stuff often hides the best surprises, right? It makes me think about how we usually just walk past old things without giving them a second look, but a little patience and elbow grease can totally change the story. Like, that penny probably sat there for decades thinking it was done, and now it's got a whole new life. It's a good reminder to not judge a book by its cover, especially with stuff that's been sitting around forgotten for years.
