Bought a $600 rotary cleaning system for a tough job and it just clogged on the first flue.
Has anyone else had issues with the newer flexible rods jamming up on heavy creosote, or should I have just stuck with my old rods and a bigger brush?

What made you go for the flexible system? I was all about the new gear too, but a real bad clog last season changed my mind. Sometimes the old stiff rods just push through gunk that the fancy ones can't handle, right?

Totally get that fear of a bad clog. I switched because the flex lets me feel the pipe's shape better, so I can avoid forcing a bend and making things worse. Honestly, it's about finesse over brute force for me now.
