Thinking about moving to Logan Square from Austin, is $1,450 for a 1BR normal?
I got a job offer in the Loop about three weeks ago and I'm trying to figure out where to live before the start date in June. My cousin lives in Logan Square and keeps telling me to look around there, but the places I've seen on Zillow are around $1,450 for a decent 1BR. Three years ago I was paying $900 for a spot in East Austin, so this feels like a huge jump. I flew up for two days last month to walk around and liked the vibe on Milwaukee Ave, but I didn't get to see any actual apartments. Is that price about right for the area, or should I be looking further out like Avondale or Hermosa? Also, how bad is the Blue Line commute into the Loop during rush hour? Any tips would really help.
