The Belmont stop redesign made me switch platforms entirely

Last Tuesday I was waiting at the Belmont Red Line stop around 6pm, same spot I always used near the front of the train. A guy with a stroller got stuck trying to get around a crowd of people all bunched up by the stairs. It took him almost two minutes to squeeze through, and then I noticed the new layout pushes everyone into one narrow lane going down. I ended up missing my train because I waited on the wrong side, the one that now gets the doors opening facing the wall half the time. So I've started walking down to Addison when the weather is decent, just to avoid that bottleneck. The extra 10 minutes on foot is worth not dealing with that mess every day. Has anyone else noticed the new platform flow making things worse at other stops, or is it just Belmont?

Honestly, I used to think people were just overreacting to the Belmont changes, but now I get it completely. The crowd by the stairs is a real problem, and that narrow lane thing makes no sense when half the trains stop with doors facing the wrong way. I switched my morning route to Addison last week too, and the extra walk beats that daily chaos every single time.
