My building's laundry room elevator broke for the 4th time since June

I went down to do a load of towels last night and the service elevator was stuck between floors again. That's the only elevator that goes to the basement where the machines are. Had to haul my laundry bag down 4 flights of stairs and back up again. Anyone else's building just refuse to fix the elevators properly around here?

Did you see that article about how some buildings just pocket the repair money and never actually fix anything properly? Filing a city complaint is smart though I heard that's the only way to get them to move.

Called my property manager every single time and made sure they logged it in writing. Eventually filed a complaint with the city housing department and that got their attention fast.

Lol yeah that's exactly what I ended up doing too! @lane.drew is totally right about them pocketing the money, I had the same thing happen with my old place. I started taking photos and videos of everything broken and emailed them to the property manager every single week. They ignored me for months until I sent a certified letter and copied the city housing department on it. Suddenly they showed up with a repair crew within a week, funny how that works right lol
