I thought the Red Line was faster than the Brown Line until I got stuck at Addison for 25 minutes
Last Thursday I was heading home from a Cubs game and picked the Red Line because I always assumed it was quicker. We sat at Addison for 25 minutes with no explanation, and the guy next to me said he takes the Brown Line every day and never waits like that. I got home at 11:40pm when the Brown Line would've had me there by 11:05. Now I'm second guessing my whole route, does anyone else out there skip the Red Line on game nights or am I overthinking this?
Saw a thing on WGN last week about how they're doing all this weekend track work on the Red Line north of Belmont, so that might be part of why you sat so long. Heard the construction is gonna drag into fall too, which is rough. A buddy of mine swears by hopping on the Brown at Southport after games, says it's a whole different world. Just watch out for those addison stops during rush hour.
