I finally invested in a snow blower for my Rogers Park alley spot

After shoveling my 40-foot alley parking pad by hand for the last four winters, I bought a used Toro from a guy on Facebook marketplace for $200. The first real snowstorm hit last week and I cleared everything in 15 minutes instead of fighting with a shovel for over an hour. Has anyone else found that moving to a machine just changes how you deal with Chicago winter parking headaches?

That thing you said about 15 minutes versus an hour, that really hits home. I had the same Toro model for three years in my old place on Irving Park, and it was the single best money I ever spent. The real kicker for me was how much less angry I was walking into work. No more soaked gloves and a sore back at 8 AM, just a clear spot and maybe some coffee to warm up.

well i used to be one of those people who thought a cheap shovel was fine lol. but hearing you say that about not being angry before work actually sold me. might have to try a toro next storm.
