Got trapped in the Red Line tunnel under the river for 20 minutes last Tuesday and now I always carry a granola bar in my jacket

Some guy's bag got caught in the doors and the emergency brake kicked in, which would've been fine if the guy next to me hadn't started having a full panic attack about the water pressure while we sat there in the dark, has anyone else's commute turned into an impromptu survival situation?

Ngl, I would've been the guy panicking about the water pressure too. Like congrats to @jamieperez for pointing out the brake isn't for the water, but that tunnel is literally under a river, so my brain would've gone straight to leaks and burst pipes. A granola bar is smart though, maybe I need to start packing a full survival kit for the Red Line. Next time someone's bag gets stuck, just pull it out yourself before the whole train becomes an underwater escape room.

Oh for heaven's sake, did you actually check the tunnel walls for cracks like @brooke484 seems to suggest?

Pretty sure the emergency brake is for the train, not the water.
