Finally gave up my car for the CTA after that $300 parking ticket

I was dead set on driving everywhere in Lakeview even with the traffic, but getting slapped with that ticket for forgetting street cleaning was the last straw. Switched to taking the Brown Line to work and it's actually faster plus saves me $50 a week on gas. Has anyone else made the switch from car to train and found it's not as bad as you thought?

My husband and I got hit with a $250 ticket for forgetting street cleaning in Edgewater last spring, and that was it for us too. The Red Line has been a blessing, I actually look forward to the commute now.

OMG yes! We had the EXACT same thing happen in Uptown last year. I was so mad because we literally moved the car for the first side and then completely spaced on the second side the next morning. $250 gone just like that. Now I take the Red Line to work every day and I don't even care if it's a little crowded, it beats worrying about tickets and circling for parking ever again.
