DAE park on the north side of the street the night before street cleaning
Got burned 3 times last summer by the sweepers on my block in Logan Square. Tickets were 60 bucks each. Now I just look at the sign, figure out which side gets cleaned tomorrow, and park there the night before. Sounds dumb but I have not paid a ticket in 8 months. Anyone else gaming the signs like this or do you just eat the fine?
My roommate put a note on the fridge with the street cleaning days for our whole block, and it has saved us at least 400 bucks since March. I do the exact same thing, check the sign Sunday night, move the car to the side they are not hitting, and go to bed. The one time I messed up was because of a Cubs game and I forgot to move it back, got hit with a 65 dollar ticket. It feels like a cheat code once you get the pattern down, my neighbors still line up on the wrong side and eat the fine every month.
