Condo board voted 6 to 4 to ban rooftop grills after last week's fire, but I think we're overreacting
Has anyone else dealt with a board that makes sweeping rules after a single scare?

Dealt with this exact thing at my old building when one person left a candle burning and suddenly we needed a whole new rulebook. They banned candles in common areas, then somehow that turned into no welcome mats in the hallway because they could "block egress." Six months later half the board had quit and nobody enforced any of it. A 6 to 4 vote tells you the board is split anyway, so that rule might not even stick once people cool off.
