Appreciation post: figuring out the Brown Line is faster than driving to the Loop
For 2 years I drove from Ravenswood to my office near State and Lake every morning, sitting in traffic on LaSalle and paying $22 a day to park. Then my car died in January and I took the Brown Line just to get to work that day. Door to door it was 34 minutes, which was somehow 15 minutes faster than driving, and I just sat there reading instead of gripping the wheel. Anyone else switch to the train way later than they should have?
