The Saturday brunch shift from hell that made me rethink my whole week

I'm talking about a specific Saturday about 2 years ago in Denver. We had a 12-top walk in 20 minutes before close, the expo called in sick, and my sous chef burned his hand on a hotel pan. It was nonstop tickets for 9 hours straight, no break, and I actually cried in the walk-in for 2 minutes. Has anyone else had a shift so bad it made you want to quit, or am I just getting soft?

Take a deep breath. It's just eggs and toast.

Setting a 5 minute phone timer in the walk-in saved my sanity.
