Just tossed $150 worth of 'gourmet' black garlic that never fermented right

I followed the recipe exactly but my humidity controller failed halfway through, leaving me with a sticky, sour mess. Anyone have a reliable brand for those temp/humidity boxes they'd actually trust?

Saw a whole thread on a gardening forum about people having the same controller issue. They were all swapping them out for the basic analog ones.

Man, that's the worst. It feels like everything with a controller is just built to fail these days. I mean, paulb98 has a point with Inkbird, but honestly I'm starting to think the only reliable gear is the stuff you cobble together yourself.
