I read that a single lemon has more juice than you'd think

I was making a big batch of lemon bars for a party last week and my recipe said to use 8 lemons. I decided to weigh the juice from each one, and the biggest gave me over 4 ounces! I found this out from a food science blog my sous chef sent me. How much juice do you all usually get from one lemon?

Got to correct you there, that was probably 4 fluid ounces by volume, not 4 ounces by weight. Juice is measured in cups, not pounds.

Wait, so my juice is lying to me about its weight too? Good catch @hugo_cooper, I'm bad at both math and grocery shopping lol.
