Despite what a lot of chefs say, I stick with pre-ground black pepper for my everyday cooking and honestly can't tell the difference.

I mean, I have to push back a little here. Fresh ground pepper just tastes way more vibrant and spicy to me, like it actually has a point. That pre-ground stuff loses its punch so fast and ends up tasting like nothing. Maybe it's just me but once you notice the difference, it's hard to go back. I keep a cheap mill on my counter now and it's a game changer for even basic meals.

Yeah I was totally in that camp until my mom got me a pepper mill for my birthday. Used it once and suddenly my eggs tasted completely different, in a good way. Now I'm kinda hooked on the fresh stuff.
