Why does nobody warn you that the $6 lunch special at the taco truck on 5th runs out by 12:15
I waited 40 minutes for a $9 burrito at the brick and mortar place across the street and it was half the food for double the price. The truck starts packing up around 12:30, so getting there at 12:10 is the sweet spot, has anyone else mapped out the exact cutoff time for their go-to spot?

The trick with the 5th street truck is the guy restocks once around 11:45, so if you roll up at 12:05 you get the fresh batch and beat the office crowd that shows up at 12:20 on the dot. I learned this the hard way after three sad burritos across the street. The brick and mortar places know they have you trapped, that's why they can charge $9 for a burrito the size of a phone. My cutoff for that truck is 12:25, after that it's scraps and they're already wiping down the grill. If you see the salsa containers stacked up, you're too late, just go home and eat a sandwich.
