Warning: the 2 for $5 taco deal at the truck on 9th is a trap for big orders
I eat at that orange truck near 9th and Main almost every Tuesday, and last month the guy working the window pulled me aside after I ordered 8 tacos for my crew. He told me straight up that the 2 for $5 deal only works if you order in twos at the window, because the second you write 8 on the slip the register rings them at $3.25 each, which cost me $11 extra without me even checking the receipt. I started ordering four separate 2-for-$5 rounds and now my total comes to $20 flat instead of $31. If you get the big family pack of rice and beans too, ask them to ring it separate or it bumps the tacos into the combo price. Check your receipt every time, because they don't always catch it and I've had to walk back twice. Has anyone else run into this at their usual spot, or is it just this one truck?
