That 'cheap' grocery store actually cost me way more in time and gas

I spent months going to this discount grocery store across town because I thought I was saving money. But last week I finally sat down and added it up. Turns out I was spending an extra 45 minutes driving there and back each trip, plus burning about $8 in gas every time. And the produce there goes bad in like 2 days, so I was throwing away food too. I was so focused on the low prices that I never stopped to think about all the hidden costs. It took me a solid 6 months to realize my regular local store was actually the better deal. Has anyone else done the math on a 'cheap' store and found it wasn't worth it?

Man that really sucks, I've been there too with stores that looked cheaper but weren't.

Yeah its like those cheap flights that end up costing more with all the add-ons.
