Swapped my taco truck loyalty to a hole-in-the-wall deli and saved $8 per lunch
I used to hit up El Primo taco truck near my job downtown at least 3 times a week because their burritos were huge. But last month I noticed they bumped prices to $13 for a basic carne asada burrito so I walked two blocks over to Mike's Deli on 5th Street. Their turkey sub is $6.50 and somehow fills me up just as much with chips and a pickle. Has anyone else found a random spot that cut their lunch spending without cutting portions?

Whoa hold on, I gotta disagree a little bit here! I mean yeah saving money is great and all but $6.50 for a turkey sub with chips and a pickle doesn't sound like it's really the same thing as a carne asada burrito. You're comparing apples to oranges and the burrito is gonna have way more meat, rice, beans, and flavor. Plus if you're like me you probably end up craving that taco truck taste a few days later and then you're spending extra to go back anyway. So it might not be as much of a win as you think.

Mike's turkey sub probably doesn't have that same smoky grilled meat flavor though.
