Is a $5 lunch special actually cheaper than cooking at home, or are we all fooling ourselves?
My coworker swears the halal cart near 6th Ave at $5.50 a plate beats grocery shopping after you add up gas, time, and the stuff that goes bad in the fridge, but I did the math on my own receipts and cooking still came out ahead by about $12 a week, so which side of this are you on?
