Dropped $40 at that new taco truck on 5th and it was a total bust

Ngl I was hyped from the Instagram pics but the carne asada was rubbery and the salsa tasted like canned tomatoes. Anybody else get burned by a hyped up food truck before?

Totally agree with you, that place was a letdown for me too. Went around noon on a Saturday and the al pastor was dry as cardboard, plus the chipotle crema tasted like sour cream mixed with tap water. Instagram made it look way better than it actually was, no idea how people are getting these perfect tacos everyone's talking about.

Huh, gotta respectfully disagree on this one. I hit that truck last Tuesday around 7pm and the carne asada was tender, almost melted in my mouth. Maybe it depends on when you go or what you order. The salsa verde had a nice kick too, definitely not from a can. I would give them another shot on a busier night, sometimes the early batches are off.
