Unpopular opinion: home charging at 110v isn't as dumb as everyone says

I ran my Bolt on Level 1 for 6 months in an apartment near Denver, adding about 5 miles per hour overnight. The range anxiety crowd said I'd be stranded in a week, but my 40 mile daily commute plus grocery runs never once left me under 30% by morning. Has anyone else actually tried slow charging long term, or are we all just chasing 240v because the forums told us to?

adding about 5 miles per hour overnight" is the part I gotta poke at. That math only works if you're parked for 10+ hours every night. My buddy tried Level 1 with a Leaf in Phoenix, 60 mile round trip. He'd plug in at 6pm, unplug at 5am. That's 55 miles restored, but he started at 20% after a hot day with AC blasting. By Friday he was cutting it close every morning. So yeah, it works for a 40 mile commute with a light foot and a garage. But that 30% buffer you had? That's the real hero here, not the 110v.
