Quick chargers near malls, are they worth the markup?
Last month I got stuck at the Target on 4th and Main because their four 50kW units were all occupied, so I paid $0.48/kWh at the EVgo across the street just to get moving. Now I'm wondering if those mall-based fast chargers are actually a deal when you factor in the time you'd spend shopping anyway, or if they're just preying on desperate folks like me. I've seen folks argue that grabbing a coffee and charging beats sitting at a free Level 2 for 6 hours, but my battery math says the premium costs about $12 more per full fill. What's your cutoff, do you plan errands around cheap rates or just accept the mall markup for convenience?
