My neighbor kept charging his Leaf to 100% every night at his place on Oak Street, and his battery health report last month was rough
So my neighbor Dave has a 2019 Leaf and he plugs it in every single night and lets it sit at 100% until morning. Last month he pulled the battery health report from the app and he's down about 12% capacity already, which for a car with 41k miles is way worse than it should be. I charge my Bolt to 80% for daily driving at our place off Oak Street and only go to 100% when I know I'm doing a longer run to see my sister in Fresno, and my numbers have barely moved in two years. What got me was when he said the dealer told him to just plug it in every night like a phone, which is fine advice for a phone and bad advice for a car with a big battery pack. Sitting at full charge in the heat is what really does the damage, and we get plenty of 95 degree days here. I sent him a couple articles and now he's trying the 80% thing for a month. Anyone else seen a big gap between how two people treat the same car and how the packs hold up?
