Just realized my neighbor's "always keep it at 80%" rule cost him a road trip
My neighbor Dave has kept his EV capped at 80% charge for two years because a guy at a dealership in Sacramento gave him that rule on day one. Last weekend he had to skip a planned stop in Truckee because he was sweating the last 40 miles, and I pointed out he could have just charged to 100% the night before a trip. Do you all treat 80% as a hard cap or just a daily habit you drop when a long drive is coming?
