Just found out my battery warranty resets after a firmware update

Last week I took my car to the dealer in Tacoma for a routine check and they pushed a software update. The tech mentioned that the battery health data got recalibrated, and now the warranty clock shows 8 years from today instead of 2025. I checked the owner's manual and a forum thread, and apparently this is a known thing for my model year. Has anyone else had their warranty term silently extended like this after an OTA update?
