Found out my EV loses 12 miles of range just from the roof rack, and I had no idea
I was messing around with my car's energy screen last Tuesday after a charge and saw my range estimate drop from 212 to 200 miles. Turns out the empty roof rack I leave on year round was the reason, since it adds drag even when there's nothing up there. I pulled it off, charged to full again, and got the 12 miles right back. Now I'm wondering how much the bike rack costs me when it's actually loaded. Has anyone else measured what their racks or boxes do to range?
