Tried to make a 'cat screaming in a box' meme and the photo came out looking like my cat was having a existential crisis

I was messing around in my kitchen last Tuesday trying to get that perfect shot of my orange tabby wedged into a Amazon box. He was making this weird noise and I snapped like 20 frames thinking I had gold. Turns out the lighting was bad and he just looked depressed. Had to scrap the whole idea and start over with a different angle.

Honestly that "existential crisis" line got me because my buddy tried something similar with his cat last month. He set up this whole elaborate thing with a cardboard box and some treats thinking he'd get a funny meme shot. The cat just sat there staring into the void with this blank look on its face for like ten minutes straight. He sent me the photos and I swear the cat looked like it was questioning all its life choices up to that point. He ended up using a completely different picture where the cat was just sleeping in the box and that one actually worked better. Sometimes the universe really wants your cat to look philosophical instead of funny I guess.

Dude you're missing the biggest thing here. Cats are actually masters at breaking the vibe on purpose. They know when you're trying to capture something funny and they deliberately give you a face that makes it look like they're about to drop a deep life philosophy on you. It's like their internal software glitches out and switches from meme mode to philosopher mode. I've seen it happen with my own cat every single time I try to get a funny video of her. She'll be acting totally normal until I hit record and then she just stares at me with this deadpan look like she's judging my very existence. Your cat probably knew exactly what you were trying to do and decided to mess with you. That's just how they roll.
