The guy at the cat cafe who said my meme was 'too niche' really got under my skin

I spent 45 minutes on a meme about my cat knocking over a socket set and he just shook his head and walked off, but has anyone else had someone totally miss the joke on a meme you put real work into?

Honestly @grace_fox3 is right, I once spent an hour on a meme about my cat and the vet just blinked at me.

...and honestly that's the WORST feeling when you put time into something and someone just doesn't get it. With cat memes it's especially rough because it's like they have to know your cat AND the joke. I had one where my cat was sitting in a toolbox and I captioned it something about her thinking she's a socket and the guy at the pet store just stared at me. What I learned is you gotta test your memes on at least two people before you share, preferably friends who know your cat's weird habits. That way you can tweak it or at least prepare yourself for the blank stares.
