The $40 cat photo backdrop kit that taught me to stop wasting money
I bought one of those foldable green screen backdrop kits off Amazon for $40 thinking I'd finally make those fancy floating cat memes with the transparent background effect. Turns out my cat hates the crinkly fabric and the green tint reflects onto her fur so bad that I spent 3 hours trying to fix the color in editing, and it still looked like she had a weird alien glow. The whole thing now sits in my closet behind a bag of dog clippers, totally untouched. What actually convinced me to stop was realizing I could just use my plain living room wall and a free phone app that cuts out backgrounds automatically, which worked way better in 10 minutes. I guess I fell for the marketing hype, you know, the idea that gear solves creativity when really it's just your eye. Anyone else got a cat meme tool they bought and never touched again, or am I the only sucker here?

That "gear solves creativity" line hit me hard. I bought a $60 ring light for my dog's "modeling shots" and now it's basically a very expensive paperweight. My best pic of her was taken with my phone on the kitchen counter, no edits, and it's still my lockscreen.
