Made my first gif from a cat video my buddy took in Denver
He sent me a clip of his tabby yeeting a toy mouse off the balcony, and I spent 2 hours figuring out the timing in Photoshop. It got 340 upvotes in the subreddit, anyone else start with someone else's footage and get hooked?
340 upvotes in 2 hours is pretty decent for a first try, but its usually harder than that to time things right. I started with my roommates old gopro footage of his dog chasing the hose and spent like 4 nights on the loop before it stopped looking choppy. The trick is to set your frame rate to 12fps first, that way you dont end up with a 900 frame mess to sort through like I did. Also, if the cat yeets the mouse off screen, trim right at the motion blur and it looks way more natural.
