Finally clicked why my cat memes looked so blurry after 2 years of making them

I was zooming in on a screenshot of my cat yawning and realized I had been saving everything as JPEG instead of PNG the whole time. The compression artifacts were ruining all the text on my captions. Has anyone else had a dumb file format mistake mess up their meme game?

OH GOD I spent SIX MONTHS wondering why my memes looked like trash and it turns out I was just saving everything as BMP because I thought "more pixels = better quality".

@abby_palmer nah, BMP does preserve every pixel perfectly but the file sizes were probably killing your uploads.
