A younger coworker made me see my old cat captions different

Was making a new meme for a cat video I shot back in 2015. Kid at work, maybe 22, saw it and asked why the cat was 'explaining stuff'. I always did those annoyed captions, you know, like the cat was tired of your nonsense. He said it looked mean, not funny. That stuck with me. Now I try more wholesome captions, like the cat just wants to share a snack. Weird how a 5 minute talk flips your whole style around. Anyone else shift their humor after feedback like that?

Ha, that's such a real thing. I had the same flip years ago when someone pointed out my "sarcastic" captions just read as plain rude. Now I ask myself if the joke would land if the cat could talk back, and honestly it made everything funnier.
