TIL at a job site in Austin last month changed how I do seams
I was helping a guy on a big commercial carpet job down in Austin. He showed me how to use a hot glue gun on the seam tape before pressing it down. It kept the edges from curling up in the heat. Has anyone else tried this method for tricky spots?

Take that hot glue trick and pair it with a silicone roller for even better results. The roller pushes the glue deeper into the seam tape and stops any bubbles from forming under the carpet. Ive been doing this on all my commercial jobs around Houston where the humidity makes edges curl like crazy. Just make sure your glue gun is set to low temp so it doesnt melt through the tape backing. The combo of hot glue on the tape plus a quick roll gives you a bond that holds even when the AC blasts all night. Have you tested it with different carpet backings yet?
