TIL a cheap seam roller can cost you a whole job

Last week in a Tampa condo, I rushed a seam with a worn-out roller from my old kit. The adhesive never fully set, and the whole 12-foot section lifted after two days. What's your go-to roller brand that actually holds up?

Ugh, been there. My cheap roller warped on a hot day and left a permanent bubble track. I only trust the heavy-duty ones from Roberts now. The extra weight makes a real difference.

Yeah @nina_sullivan61, that weight thing is SO true. It reminds me of when I tried using a light-duty extension cord for my saw, and the thing got all soft and melty in the sun. Total mess. You just can't skimp on the stuff that has to handle real conditions. A good tool has some heft to it.

Disagree about needing heavy tools all the time. My light cordless drill gets the job done without weighing my arm down. Sometimes lighter gear is just smarter for the task.

Oh man, that's rough! I had a cheap putty knife bend on me mid-spackle once and left a huge ridge. Sometimes the light stuff just folds under pressure.
