That Tuesday in Tulsa when every seam landed on a doorway

Had a 3 room stretch job in Tulsa two weeks back where every single seam fell right in a doorway, which never happens. Spent 40 minutes just re-stretching the first room because the carpet kept popping the seam tape on the threshold, and I could feel the day slipping away by 10am. A guy named Ray who I sub for says when that happens you cut your own throat trying to power stretch through it, so I pulled the whole thing back up and re-tacked it. Anyone else run into a run of bad seams like that, or is it just me picking bad jobs?
