Pro tip: Marking your chalk lines with a bit of tape saves so much hassle
I was laying down carpet in a long hallway last month. My chalk lines kept getting rubbed out by my knees as I worked. It was annoying and led to some crooked cuts. Then I had the idea to put small pieces of masking tape at the start and end of each line. Now the lines stay clear, and I can line up the carpet perfectly every time. It takes only a minute to do, but it saves me from having to re-measure and re-chalk. My buddy saw me doing it and laughed, but he tried it on his next job and texted me to say it worked great. Honestly, such a simple fix made me realize how small habits can change your whole workflow.

Tiny fixes like that add up so fast. Makes me wonder how many daily annoyances we just put up with instead of solving.

Seriously though, it's wild what we live with. My kitchen table had one leg that was shorter for like two years, just wobbling. A pack of those little felt pads was a dollar and took two seconds to stick on. Why did I wait so long?

Actually @faithg26, fixing it makes you notice worse stuff.
