Pattern alignment win on a recent install, but glue confusion lingers

Just finished a job with a chevron style carpet. Usually my seams show a little. This time I measured the repeat twice before cutting. Laid the pieces side by side on the floor. Used a sharp blade and steady hand. The pattern matched up almost perfectly. Felt really good to see it come together. But now I'm wondering about glue types for different paddings. Why does some adhesive bubble up with rubber pad? Does temperature play a part? Would appreciate any advice from you all.

Solvent-based glue stops the bubbling with rubber pad, trust me. Cold glue or a chilly floor will ruin the bond, so warm things up first lol.

Ever run into that bubbling problem yourself? @finley_flores28 really nailed the explanation about the latex and water reaction. It's one of those things you only learn after messing it up a few times.

Nice work on that chevron match, that's always a great feeling. The bubbling with rubber pad is usually the latex in the pad reacting with the water in a standard adhesive. You need a 100% solvent-based glue for those, not a water-based one. Cold glue or a cold subfloor can also make it set up weird and cause bubbles.
