Overheard a GC in Dallas say 'anyone can stretch carpet', and I almost lost a $3,200 job because of it
Was picking up pad at a supply house on Harry Hines Blvd when I heard him tell a new guy that power stretching is optional if the room is small. I took a 12x14 bedroom last month and did it his way, and within 5 days the carpet was rippling along the south wall where the afternoon sun hits it. Pulled it back up, re-stretched with my knee kicker and power stretcher, and ate the labor cost myself. Any of you ever had a GC push that line on you?
