Old timer showed me a carpet seam trick in Phoenix
Working a 12x15 living room last month. This retired installer named Mike was watching me from his porch. He walked over and said "you're stretching that seam wrong, kid." Showed me how to angle the power stretcher at 45 degrees instead of straight. Seam laid flat as glass after that. Anyone else get tips from random strangers on the job?

Mike from Phoenix watched me for 20 minutes before he said anything, so I hear you on the random porch coaching. But honestly, if his trick worked that well for you, why not just take the win and move on? Not every tip needs a whole debate about whether stranger advice is legit.
