Old pro told me to switch to a Roberts 10-84 and it saved me 3 hours on a stair job

Last month I was wrestling with a curved staircase in a house near Austin, and I was using my usual power stretcher like always. A guy named Mike who has been installing since the 80s walked through and told me to ditch the power stretcher on curves and grab a Roberts 10-84 knee kicker instead. I thought he was crazy because I have always used power on stairs, but I gave it a shot on the next landing. Man, that knee kicker let me work into the tight radius without fighting the stretch every 2 minutes. I finished the whole flight in about 4 hours instead of the 7 I budgeted for. Has anyone else had an old timer steer you right on a tool you thought you knew?

Switched to a manual stretcher myself after a 20 year vet showed me the same trick and never looked back.

Three fingers of slack and it clicks right in.
