My dad always said to never trust a seam in a doorway, but I just did a perfect one.

He drilled it into me for years, but on a job in Tempe last month, the pattern demanded it. Used a double-cut method with my Roberts 10-12 knife and it's holding up great two weeks later. Anyone have a different trick for those tricky transitions?

Honestly that rule sounds a bit over the top. A seam in a doorway is just another transition, right? If you prep the floor right and cut it clean, it should be fine. Your dad's advice might be from a time with worse materials. Good on you for trying it and proving it works.
