Measuring mistakes from my first big commercial job still haunt me
Last week I was measuring a lobby in Columbus and caught myself double checking the same wall twice. That habit started after a job 3 years ago where I cut a 40 foot hallway 4 inches short because I trusted a blueprint over my tape. The property manager was not happy and I had to order a whole new roll of carpet. Now I always walk the space first and write numbers on the floor with chalk. It slows me down maybe 15 minutes but beats a $600 mistake. Anyone else have a measuring fail they learned the hard way?

Ha! At least you caught it before the carpet went in. I once measured a window twice and still ordered it 10 inches too wide.
