Just realized power stretcher pads aren't all the same size

I grabbed a replacement pad at a supply house in Tulsa last week and it was a quarter inch shorter than my old one, threw my whole stretch off on a 12 foot run. Does anyone else measure pads before buying or am I just overthinking it?
